The O’Brien Family
In November 2018, firefighters were called to the O’Brien family home near Australind as it was engulfed by flames caused by an electrical fault. It took firefighters just over an hour to bring the blaze under control, leaving an estimated $400,000 damage to the house which had to be demolished.
The family chose to rebuild with Smart Homes for Living, and with five children aged from 6 to 13 they built a 6-bedroom custom designed home aptly named ‘Colossus’.
With a big family and a big home, the couple had the challenge of how to furnish the house, but that became a lot easier when they attended their pre-start appointment in the Ventura Home Group’s office in Bunbury.
A surprise visitor to the meeting was Ventura Home Group Director Mark Di Masi who wanted to meet the couple after hearing about the difficult time the family had endured since the fire destroyed their home and most of their belongings. To make things a little easier Ventura Home Group were pleased to provide the family with furniture for their house.
Upon house completion, Mr Di Masi himself was on site at the new home to deliver the modern and stylish furniture from Ventura Home Group’s display homes to family’s delight.
Tristan O’Brien said he and Lacey were touched by the kindness of Ventura Home Group.
“A huge thank you to all the team at Ventura Home Group for their generosity and support it means the world to us”, Tristan said.
Ventura Home Group General Manager in the South West, Daryl Brough said the company was delighted to help the family when they had gone through such hard times.
“The South West community is close knit, we all support each other in times of need and the O’Brien’s deserved a helping hand.”
